Choirul Huda,Indonesian Pro-footballer who plays for Persela Lamongan club as a goalkeeper has died after a collision with a team-mate during Liga 1 match on Sunday.

The 38-year-old collided with his defender Ramon Rodrigues and an opponent striker Marcel Sacramento when he came off his line to challenge for the ball shortly before half-time. They were playing against Semen Padang.

Huda went down clutching his face and was rushed from the Surajaya Stadium in Sidorejo, in Lamongan, to hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

 

Dr Nugroho, from Dr Soegiri Lamongan hospital in Lamongan, East Java, said the collision resulted in Huda “stopping breathing and caused a cardiac arrest”.

Huda had played for Persela since 1999, making more than 500 appearances,had spent his whole career at the club since his debut.The club described him as “the Real Legend of Persela” in a tribute on social media.
