Mike Hussey, the two- time Champions Trophy winner with Australia predicted an Australia-England final at the ICC CT, 2017.He was replying to cricket.com.au when asked about his favourite teams.
Both the teams (arch rivals ) are due to meet on June 10 at Edgbaston.Hussey evaluates that England ‘s balance as well as the advantage of playing at home; and Australia’s X factor will help both teams eventually lock horns in the final, progressing out of Group A.The Group also includes New Zealand and Bangladesh.
Eventhough all teams are powerful, England has got a cutting edge over them.Its a well balanced, all-round team well and well coached.Moreover, they are quite familair with their home conditions and will surely have home ground support.
Australia is as well, a balanced squad with X factor players and some serious pace bowlers.There are also the big guns like David Warner and Steven Smith, not to forget Chris Lynn who has got the X factor in him.
Asked about the possibility of pressure of playing in the home ground backfiring on England, Hussey reminded that the leadership especially the captain Eoin Morgan and coach Trevor Bayliss will be a calming influence on the team.
