Mitchell Johnson has been one of the greatest fast bowlers in the recent history of world cricket. At his peak, he was a deadly left-arm pacer, creating great fears in the minds of the opposition batsmen. Just ask the English batsmen, who faced him in all his fury in the Ashes. Johnson now is happily retired from international cricket and is quite a presence on Twitter, often trying to troll his compatriots. In a failed attempt though, he tried to troll the pace of Ashish Nehra who has made a comeback in the Indian T20I team and got absolutely savaged by the Indian fans.
Johnson was initially trying to troll Kiwi pacer and Mumbai Indians teammate Mitchell McLenaghan who had made some nice comments about him in an interview.
The Mitchells were trolling one another in a hilarious exchange. It led to Johnson challenging McClenaghan to a bowl-off to see who was the fastest left-armer in the world over 30 years of age. Dean Jones crashed their party with an epic burn, replying on the thread, “Currently Ashish Nehra”. Suddenly, Nehra became the topic of discussion and when Johnson joked, “His run up is definitely faster”, Indian fans came out in numbers to stand up for the 38-year-old India pacer.
You going around again old timer? 🙊😜

In reply to Johnson’s comment on Nehra’s run-up, Indian fans came in support of Ashish Nehra. However, Johnson decided to pull out some stats to prove the twitterati wrong by replying to the comments that they were just having a banter.
Hahaha really with an Ave over 40 & Strike rate close to 80 👍🏼 Just so you know, we are just having some banter 🤙🏼

But it was too late for Indian fans and the rush to troll Johnson began.
