Mumbai beat Odisha in Ranji Trophy grabbing their first win in this season.Mumbai won by 120 runs in the Group ”C” match at KIIT Stadium in Bhubaneshwar on Saturday. As the match finished overnight 93 for 4, Odisha capitulated in less than two sessions as Akash Parkar and Dhawal Kulkarni finished with three wickets left.Odisha dosen’t seems to be in a good flow.
Chasing a target of 413 runs,the home side were never in the game.Losing wickets in the regular interval made them struggle.Only captain Govind Poddar offered some resistance,with a knock of 87 runs.This kept them in the game at some point.Govind put 90 runs along with Shanthanu Mithra but they falled to Abhishek Nayar,he also got the wicket of Biplab by leaving them no hope behind.
With the win they moved to 10 points in the group.The 41-time Rnji champions now have to face Baroda in their next game at home.Odisha would have to face Tmila Nadu in their next match at Cuttack from November 9.In an other Group ””C”” game Andhra had an 8 wicket win over Madhyapradesh by grabbing 6 points.This helped them to move up the table with 15 points.Madhyapradesh is just behind them with only 1 point difference.This made the Group ”C” games more interesting.
