Putting an end to all the confusions, BCCI has announced the 15 men squad for the upcoming ICC Champions trophy in England.

Star players such as Rohit Sharma, R.Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja made a comeback after recovering from injuries. Veterans MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh were included in the Kohli led squad and they might be playing their last Champions Trophy ever. However, there were a few players who found themselves extremely unlucky to not be picked up for the champions clash

#5 Rishab Pant

This youngster from Delhi amazed every cricket spectators with his performances with the bat over the past year or so. Ever since he made his debut for the Indian U-19 cricket team, he has made huge strides and is definitely one for the future.

Due to his impressive domestic performances, he was included in the squad for the T20I series against England earlier this year and even made his debut in the T20I in Bengaluru.

He also made tremendous success in IPL also. His aggressive batting style along with the ability to strike the ball all over the ground made him be noticed by senior players as wells as by the selectors. his 97 run knocks against the Gujarat Lions will never be forgotten.

#4 Yuzvendra Chahal

Chahal made his cricketing debut back in 2009 but came to prominence only after his success with the Royal Challengers Bangalore a few years ago.

He was their leading wicket-taker in 2015 and 2016 and thus earned his India call up in the ODIs and T20Is against Zimbabwe last year. He was included in the T20s against England earlier this year as well and achieved reasonable success with the ball.

But as R.Aswin and Jadeja fills the spots for spinners, selectors decided to go with one additional pacer and ignored chahal

#3 Kuldeep Yadav

This 22-year-old impressed everyone with his performances in the U-19 World Cup back in 2014 and has made great strides ever since. A left-arm chinaman bowler, Kuldeep has been equally impressive at the first-class domestic tournaments and the Indian Premier League as well.

His ability to make lot of variety deliveries makes him one of the most promising option for India in the near future.. Kuldeep shows special ability in taking wickets at crucial time and contain the opposition’s run-rate as well – something which he has successfully done time and again for the Kolkata Knight Riders this season.

#2 Dinesh Karthik

After completing an extremely successful domestic season this Wicket-keeper batsman from Tamil Nadu was waiting for a call to the national team.but, however, this highest run scorer of the last season didn’t get another opportunity to showcase his talent.

Karthik Continued his good form in the ongoing IPL and become one of the consistent middle order batsmen for Gujarat lions. Recently Karthik revealed his desire to play for the country and stated that he will hopefully wait for the call from the selectors

#1 Gautam Gambhir

No more explanations are needed. Probably the most unlucky cricket player of the country who has all the rights to be included in the national team but still continue to be rejected by the selectors

He has proved to be one of the best captains in the IPL as well and has lifted the title twice with Kolkata Knight Riders. In this year too KKR playing very solid cricket under the leadership of this 35-year-old cricketer. As KL Rahul become unavailable for the tournament due to the shoulder injury, Gambhir should have probably been the preferred choice over the inconsistent Shikhar Dhawan.
