The 2017-18 India Super League begins on 17th November 2018. The Fourth seasons will be more interested with more number of teams and also players with skills and ability to make each and every match thrilling and beautiful.
In the opening match the defending Champions Atletico de Kolkata will face the last years runners up Kerala Blasters at Kochi, the home ground of Kerala Blasters.
The league will now contain 10 teams including Bengaluru FC and Jamshedpur FC. This is for the first time in the league’s history, a participation of 10 teams. In the last 3 seasons there were only 8 teams.
Each clubs will be allowed to have five foreign players, where six in the previous seasons. Also the duration of the season was also increased. This season will have a total of 108 days which features 90 matches.
For Indian football the longer season is good, it can increase the number of Indian players to six , also it increases responsibility of the Indian players and it helps to improve them as players. This can help the Indians to improve the Indian football.
As per the schedule the finals will be on the second week of March 2018. That is on 17th of March 2018 at Kolkata.
Let us hope for a beautiful and interesting seasons with new teams and players and also for a long season in the history of Indian Super League. Will Atletico retains their tittle, wait till March 2018 to find the answer.
