Indian cricketer players will fly in business-class when travelling on national duty after BCCI approved their proposal to upgrade travel on Monday. Earlier, many players including the Indian captain Virat Kohli had complained about the problems faced while travelling including being mobbed by fans. Some of the tall players had complained about lack of leg-space. They also complain of long waiting time for luggage at the airport making the players’ overall travelling experience discomforting and tiring.

“The proposal has been approved in a recently-held meeting of the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) in Delhi. The proposal approved in COA meeting regarding business class travel for all cricketers for their domestic flights on and off series:,” BCCI acting president CK Khanna told media.

In the former Indian captain Kapil Dev’s opinion the rich Indian cricket board should have its own planes to fly the players. He said, “This would save a lot of time and make life easier for Indian Team who can also get enough rest between matches. The board can afford it. They should have done it five years ago. I would also love to see some cricketers buying their own aircrafts in the days to come. In the US, top golfers have their own planes. I don’t see any reason why our players can’t buy it. I am sure BCCI can also afford the parking charges.”

From now on any player who is on National duty can avail the services of Business class. Earlier only the captain and the coach were able for this service.
