The Indian shooter couldn’t secure the podium for the third time this year as he finished at the bottom,securing eight position in the final of men’s 10m air rifle on the second day of the World Cup Final at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Ranges,scoring 123.4.he was the the first to be eliminated in the third series.

Ravi Kumar finished fifth in ISSF World Cup in Munichin in May.In February this year, Kumar had finished at the same position in the final of the season opening World Cup here.

This was Kumar’s third successive final this year, He was steady in the qualification round, with 623.9 ,Kumar managed a fifth-place finish ,making cut for the final. The top eight enter the medal round.

He started the final with a 10.5 and followed that up with a 10.3. A 10.2 in the third shot of the first series kept him in fray, but a very low 9.2 in the following shot pulled him to the last place.

“It was a bad day. I wasn’t able to recover from a bad shot,” he said after the match. His personal coach Manoj Kumar too looked disappointed. “There is no scope of error in the final,” he added.When asked about areas that still need improvements, he siad “That is one area – the finals – I believe I need to work on.”

Twenty-year-old Istvan Peni of Hungary claimed gold with a world junior record of 249.8 points.
