The world number two was imperious on serve throughout ,surviving the match without facing a single break point as he won in one hour 12 minutes.It was his fourth win of the year against Nadal and his fifth in succession over the world number one.
The 19-time Grand Slam winner, who still trails Nadal 23-15 in their overall head-to-head series, ended the match with service breaks.
This win (102) made him move up the tables leaving behind Ivan Lendl(100) in terms of Open Ear titles.Jimmy Connors (109) is the only one in front of Federer.

“I’ll go home and we will work out where I play next, Basel, Paris, one of those or none, before I go to London, which is my priority,” said Federer.
Both players are scheduled to play in Basel and Paris before the ATP Tour Finals in London, with Nadal (10,465 points) well clear of Federer (8505) .Federer is the only person who can deny Rafael Nadal his world number one position at the end of the year.
